Haiti Fundraiser
On Friday 29th January, we had a "Pyjamas or Jersey Day"to raise money for Haiti. As you all know there was a terrible earthquake in Haiti earlier this month and we decided to raise as much money as we could to help the victims of this awful event. Everyone came dressed in their pyjamas or football jerseys and it was great fun. We all brought in 2 euro for Oxfam or as much as we could afford. We raised the fantastic sum of 905 euro. We are all very proud of raising this money and we hope it helps the people of Haiti a little bit.

On Thursday 28th January we had a day of action for our third Green Flag. This flag was on water conservation. All classes have been working hard on this topic for some time now and they all displayed their hard work on the action day. The Green School Committee have done fantastic work preparing for this Green Flag.
More news to come.
The Christmas Fair
The Christmas Fair took place on the 13th December. It was a fantastic day. We raised over 3000 euro. This Christmas Fair had a lot more in it than our other fairs and had a lot more to do at it too. This is because we have more space now in our school and have way more children. The food was lovely and everyone enjoyed the stuff made by all the children and parents. Dermot roasted chestnuts wrapped in bason. They were so delicious!
Classes made painted plates, candle holders, laterns and picture frames to be sold at the fair. They were very popular and loads of them were sold.

Cake Sale
Just before the Halloween mid-term, we had a fantastic cake sale. Most of the cakes had a Halloween design and they all looked super. The school raised 411 Euro for charity. The charities that we gave to were "Focus Ireland", which helps homeless people in Ireland and "Haven", which helps build homes for poor people all over the world.
At the cake sale, there was a competition for the best cake. The winners with their amazing cakes were:
Elaine Shaul - Senior Infants
Dafne Mancosu - Senior Infants
Dualtagh Leahy-Furlong - 3rd Class
Halloween Assembly
On the 23rd October 2009 we had our Hallowenn assembly. It was a very special assembly as it was about homes and homelessness. We had been learning about what home means to us and the different types of homes there are around the world. We also learnt about being homeless and what it would feel like not to have a home.
Some classes did songs, some did dramas and some did poems. It was a great assembly and there were lots of colourful costumes on display.
